My little celebrity.

Raising an almost one-year-old is a lot like being the personal assistant of a diva-celebrity. One minute they are charming and perfect. The next, they are demanding and unreasonable. They can never make up their minds. Also J isn't drunk, but he sure stumbles, falls, and runs into things like he is.

J can...

Here's a list of things J has learned to do recently. J can...

crawl all over the house and yard.

bite your finger with his four little teeth.

say hi, bye, mama, dada, baba, kittykitty (this just started today), a bath.

sometimes repeats ball, baby, dog, cookie, night-night, and a handful of other words.

pull himself up.

walk all the way around the ottoman.

stand without holding on to anything (this is rare and short lived but he's getting better.)

fake laugh and fake cough.

sleep all night.

wave and clap.

play peek-a-boo by pulling something up in front of his face.

Kevin, am I forgetting anything?

Bumps and Bruises

Poor J has had a rough week. He is covered in bruises and scrapes. He's at the stage when he forgets that he doesn't have much balance. He has a busted lip that looks pretty bad. Kevin said he bled quite a bit. It was probably better that I didn't see it happen. He has a bruise on his cheek from falling at my mom's. There is also a scrape on his hand and a bruise on his leg that no one knows when he got them. I'm afraid that he's going to be one of those boys who is always injuring himself.

Kevin is home!

Unfortunately, he had to come straight from the flight to his softball game. He walked into the softball park, kissed the boy and me, and had to head to the dugout. We think J thought he had been at the softball fields all week. We got to hang around for one game, and then, J needed to go to bed.

This week J learned to clap. It's his new favorite thing. He clapped all through breakfast.
